- Client: ADEngineering
- Industry: Instrumentation, Optics & Precision Lenses
The Challenge
ADEngineering required a complete technological overhaul for their optical analysis machinery.
The goal was not only to replace obsolete hardware, but also to develop systems capable of performing complex tests with maximum precision while adhering to strict regulatory standards, particularly for photochromic lens analysis and optical power measurement.
This required:
- Extremely precise and configurable light spectrum control.
- The implementation of advanced automated optical measurement techniques.
- Seamless integration between the new hardware, control firmware, and analysis software.
The Quantic Innovations Solution
Quantic Innovations acted as the sole technology partner, redesigning the entire hardware and software architecture of the main equipment:
1. Complete Hardware Redesign: Replacement of all existing control boards with high-reliability custom hardware.
2. Optimized Firmware Development: Creation of firmware to manage the new components and ensure fast, stable communication with the analysis software.
3. Photochromic Lighting Design: Development of a custom illumination system featuring 12 different LED clusters to accurately simulate the light spectrum required by standards for photochromic lens activation and deactivation.
4. Advanced Analysis Software Development: Creation of sophisticated software for the optical bench, integrating: • Camera Recognition: Algorithms for precise identification of deflected laser spots, essential for measuring prismatic power. • Automatic Focus: Software techniques for automated measurement of spherical power.
